Your Portable Trade Show Booth Theme

Your portable trade show booth theme or concept is one of the main factors determining the success of your exhibit. Here are some tips on choosing a successful theme:

  • First, read up on designing portable booths for achieving your company's exhibit goals, keeping costs under control, good layout, and portability of the display.

  • Before signing up for a trade show, ask for statistical data on the event's attendees, including product interests, professions, and any other data the show management may have. Then decide which of your products to target at this show, and what kind of theme would work best.

  • Brainstorm a central theme for your portable display that's designed specifically for the audience and market you're targeting. Your goal is to reach these people in a way that appeals to them.

  • Decide which product to focus on to appeal to your primary target audience. What do they want? What problems or needs do they have, that you can solve? What emotional buttons does this group have that you can push?

  • Research your target audience. Learn as much as possible about the demographics of this group, as well as their buying habits. Find as much statistical data as possible about this consumer group.

  • You can tie your portable booth theme into nearly all aspects of your display. Booth staffers' clothes, booth decorations, music, lighting, fragrances, etc. can all be chosen to express your overall concept.

  • At each expo, take the opportunity to survey your target market regarding their purchasing habits and problems or needs.

  • When choosing your booth concept, consider how it might allow for ways your prospective customers can participate in various aspects of your booth. Interaction is a key to creating a memorable exhibit.

  • Once you come up with a great concept, start brainstorming ways to make it inexpensive.
