Choosing Portable Trade Show Exhibits

Portable trade show exhibits are very popular because they can fit nearly any budget, make excellent use of today's stunning graphics, can be stored in a tiny space, and may be transported to the expo without any shipping or drayage expenses. Here's a checklist of features to keep in mind when shopping for your portable display:

All portable trade show booth components should meet the industry standard for fire retardancy. This standard is based on Chicago's fire retardant requirements, which are very stringent.
How much does the portable display weigh, including its case? Does the case have sturdy wheels and handles in convenient places? Or does it require a separate cart? Is the case durable enough to withstand the wear and tear of travel, storage, packing, and unpacking?
Does the case turn into a podium, display pedestal, or storage unit?
How much time does it take to set up? How many people are needed for setup? If you have trouble setting it up or it breaks at a show, is there a toll-free number you can call?
Many portable trade show exhibits require tools to set up and take down. In that case, be sure the tools come with the display, and can be stored and transported in the case so they won't be forgotten back home.
Does the display have other parts that are not included in the case, that you must purchase and carry separately?
Can you fit the portable display in a rental car? Can it be shipped via UPS or other carrier if you decide to ship it?
How long will it take to have your exhibit designed? Are graphics included in the quoted price?
Check references of others who have purchased these portable exhibits. Ask what they like and dislike about their display, and what they would change if they could.
