Trade show exhibits can be expensive, and small add-ons can quickly increase the price even more. Here are smart ways to cut costs when planning your booth displays: - Don't purchase custom add-ons. Especially on portable exhibits, extras like tall sign headers, counters, etc. can increase your costs without increasing your booth's effectiveness.
- Don't rent anything from the expo's management firm unless you have to. Their rental fees will be very high, and you'll be getting well-used exhibits that won't give you very much bang for your buck.
- Don't purchase graphics from the expo's management firm either. Again, they'll be overpriced and not of top quality.
- Plan everything well ahead of the show, so you don't have to pay extra "rush" charges on your graphics and signs, nor express shipping fees to transport your displays to the show location.
- Think twice before deciding to purchase each display item. Do you really need it? Will it really pull its weight in your booth? Will it make an impact on customers? If possible, make each item do double-duty and serve multiple purposes.
- Shop around before buying trade show booth components. Compare prices among vendors, and check for money-saving extras such as free shipping to get the displays to you. Let the vendors know you're shopping around, and see what bids they're willing to give you.
- Check for mysterious extra charges on trade show exhibits. Be sure you're receiving everything you're paying for, and that everything you're paying for is something you actually need.
- Consider purchasing pre-owned exhibits. You can put together a really great used trade show booth for a fraction of the cost of purchasing brand-new displays.
