Trade Show Table Cover Options

Your trade show table cover selection is an important visual element of your booth. Here are some tips for choosing the best ones for your booth:

Table Cover Sizes

The most standard sizes are made for 30-inch high tables, in these configurations:

  • 6-foot rectangle
  • 8-foot rectangle
  • 4-foot circular
  • 6-foot circular.

There are also some versatile table covers designed to work on either 6-foot or 8-foot tables.

Styles and Fabrics

Professionally manufactured covers are seamed and designed to hang to the floor on all four sides of a 30-inch high table. A table topper and pleated skirt combo is also a popular option.

You may want to consider getting some table skirt clips - small plastic fasteners designed to help secure table toppers, skirts, and wraps to the table.

Polyester twill is the most common fabric for trade show table covers. It's used because of its light weight, wrinkle resistance, durability, and cleanability. It's generally available in dozens of colors to match your overall booth color scheme.

Sometimes the expo provides each exhibitor with plain table coverings - usually for a fee.

Imprinted Table Covers

Imprinting your company's logo or message on your table covers is a popular way of making your booth identifiable at a glance. It adds interest, professionalism, and focus to your display.

There are two main methods of creating imprinted table covers:

  1. Thermal Imprint Process: Your image is cut out and heat-set into the fabric. This is a good choice for a small quantity of table throws and rush jobs.
  2. Silk Screen Process: Your image is rendered in an ink-based process where the fabric absorbs the ink for a permanently bonded image. This is a good option when high quality is important.

A common imprint area size is 15 inches by 48 inches.

Flame Retardant Table Cover Requirements

All booth fabrics should be flame retardant and meet the fire marshal's current code requirements. Fire marshal inspections are not unusual, and inspectors have been known to test the corner of a table covering or other booth fabric with a lighter. If you can't pass the test, you're usually required to pack up.

Your trade show table cover should come with a flame retardant certificate. Be sure to keep this with your other important documents in your booth.
